The best player for the winners was American point guard Marquise Mosley (175-1997, college: Biola, CA, agency: Crossover Management) who scored 26 points. Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. American swingman Shian Bradshaw (194-1995, college: Wake Tech CC) produced 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Dominican-American Francisco Alvarez (203) added 13 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for the hosts. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Dominican guard Nargenis Ulloa (182-1997) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists during the contest. Five San Salvador players scored in double figures. Guard Gerardo Rivas (182-2001) responded with 14 points and forward Alejandro Barahona (189-1999) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
